ugh. It was seriously a struggle to do anything productive the day after our feast with Eleni and Vagelis! And I swear it was all over eating – not over drinking! We actually had very little to drink (when you consider what we are capable of if we put our minds to it!!!)
We had an easy morning at the Acropolis Museum. Very interesting – especially learning about who to blame for the destruction of much of it. We indulged in a frapé on the terrace and then meandered back through Plaka to repeat our gyro experience from the first night. This time, however, we sat at a table and learned that not only is the gyro 4x more expensive but you also get 4x the amount of meat. This was just about the time that my stomach went on strike!!! Haha… luckily Javi was there to help me out!
Needless to say, we needed a siesta after this!
For our evening activity we had made a reservation at the rooftop bar of A For Athens hotel on the Monastiriki Square. It’s a tight squeeze up there – definitely more room at 360 – but the advantage of A For Athens is that it has views over the whole square as well as the acropolis. Brilliant night!
