Nestled at the foot of Shizi Mountain (Lion Mountain), Mu’s Residence is Lijiang’s answer to Beijing’s Forbidden City. It was the seat of power, politics, and wealth for the Naxis during seven centuries. Unfortunately most of the residence was destroyed in wars during the Qing Dynasty, but it has been faithfully reconstructed to its previous splendour.
