Tiger Leaping Gorge

Just 60 km north of Lijiang lies one of nature’s most exciting treasures: Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Jinsha River which flows through the gorge is a primary tributary of the Upper Yangtze River, the longest river in Asia. The gorge stretches for about 15 km and is formed by the towering mountains of Jade Dragon Snow (5,596 m) and Haba Snow (5,396 m) on either side.
